At the begining of the year we were told to take down the tiles as it would bring in more light, 5 months later we were told to put them back up, we all refused in the end it took someone telling us there going to fine our course budget, so in the end we all decided to put them back. lol
LEAD QUESTION
Everybody wants interactivity.
The interactive world is expanding rapidly that each new media created has to have an element of interactivity within it. I set out to investigate the interactive world, what it contains and what elements they bring to consumers lifestyle. I hope the answers that I find prove that the internet is so addictive because of the interactive aspects it brings to its users. I hope my answers also prove that game consoles are so entertaining not only because of their enhanced graphics but there interactivity aspects as well. Most of the entertaining new media technologies that have been brought out onto the market all contain an element of interactive design. In my opinion if it didn’t then those particular products wouldn’t be as mass production as it is today.
I aim to research the investigation by gathering primary and secondary resources. Primary research will contain questioners, which I will give out to a selective number of people to obtain their opinions and get feedback. I may also interview certain companies that deal with interactive design. For my secondary recourses I will gather information from books, magazines, journals, the internet and I may also look into different case studies if they are relevant to my subject topic.
The problems I will get from obtaining my resources will be finding suitable candidates to interview and I feel that I will have to spend a substantial amount of time writing up the “right questions”. Also finding books that focus on my subject matter may be difficult and so I am going to research early.
The main issues that are arising from my research so far, is that interaction makes money and without it the chosen product may not be as successful. The information so far that I have to prove my argument is what I see from the world around me, television has now expanded from analog to digital, from standard definition to high definition and containing the interactive red button and TV on demand.
The internet is an interactive space of its own as the user selects what they do and how they do it.
Game consoles not only contain high quality graphics but all competitors like Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo have all added interactive essentials to their products, for example. Microsoft’s Xbox and Sony’s Playstation 3 both include an online feature were players can interact with multiple player’s from around the world as well as play their games. Nintendo’s Wii is the only console that allows the user to control the game with their movements. All together this new type of interaction is what is making new media technology so addictive and time consuming.
There may be ethical issues or debates that surround my enquiry however at this moment I am unaware and will need to look into this further. My dissertation will be written as that is what I feel is most appropriate to my subject and investigation.
In conclusion I chose this subject because I am an active user of the internet, strong gamer of the Xbox 360 and like millions of people a regular watcher of digital TV. These three elements are what motivated me to approach my question in this manner and how I noticed the link between all three devices. Interactivity.
Finally, after what seems like months of magazine scans confirming its existence, Activision just officially announced the next true instalment in the Guitar Hero franchise (you don’t count Aerosmith), originally dubbed Guitar Hero IV, will now officially be known as Guitar Hero World Tour.
As expected, World Tour will add singing and drum playing to the mix, featuring what they call the best drum set peripheral EVER, a reworked guitar peripheral and Acti promising that all peripherals will be wireless as well. With features like a Band Career Mode, online integration and the ability to record and share music, Activision is also touting World Tour’s track list which they admit will be the largest list of any GH game featuring bands like Van Halen, Linkin Park, The Eagles and Sublime.
So, now that it’s official and we have some concrete deets, do you think World Tour will give Rock Band some competition and will you be checking out World Tour later this year?

For a month now i have being useing this app called pic lens, its a cool app that allows u to view pictures in a 3D enviroment by simply draggin and zooming with the mouse wheel, they have also recently allowed you to use you tube videos

A means of creating visuals using your voice.
The user is instructed to shout at the screen, the action creats a shape.
The user can experiment making differnt noises of differnt lengths and pitches, this creates a new differnt shape, the old shape still exists in the space floating around.
The sound the user made to create each shape is recorded and stored withn the shape
As the shapes float around they collide, she sound of the shape is played back.

BMW plans to launch its Automatic Engine Start/Stop System next year - one of the fuel economy and emissions reduction components of its “Efficient Dynamics” technology package, as the company aims to meet its commitment to the European Association of Automobile Manufacturers 2008 CO2 emissions reduction targets.
Officially called “Auto Start/Stop,” the system automatically switches off the engine when the car comes to a standstill. As soon as the driver puts in the clutch or depresses the gas pedal, the engine restarts automatically. BMW’s “Intelligent Software” links together the various sensors required with the starter motor and the alternator control to make the process work.
Auto Start/Stop, along with BMW’s High Precision Injection (lean-burn direct injection) and Brake Energy Regeneration technologies, will appear across a broad model range, with the Start/Stop technology to be introduced in four- and six-cylinder 1-, 3- and 5-Series models.
